American Extreme Sports - Nevada's

Nevada's stunning untamed landscape is home to some of America's most extreme sports, making the Silver State a haven for adrenaline junkies. From mountain biking around Lake Tahoe, land sailing on the Misfits Flat, to white water kayaking in the Truckee River, Nevada has something to get even the most extreme athlete's pulse racing.

1. Land Sailing - Misfit Flat

Nevada is famous for many things, but perhaps one of its unique, yet lesser known aspects is land sailing. The arid lakebeds and dry mud terrains lends itself to being one of the best land sailing destinations in the US.

2. Ride Dune Buggies - Amargosa Sand Dunes

Home to the largest dunes in North America, exceeding 500 ft. in height, the Amargosa Dunes offer a thrilling dune buggy ride for the ultimate thrill seekers. Quite aptly, Amargosa translates to 'big dune'.

3. Mountain Biking - Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe is home to diverse scenic mountain bike trails, which can accommodate various skill levels. Those less experienced riders can start with the 6.5 mile Powerlines Trail, which weaves through the forest, connecting with other trails such as Corral, Cedar and Cold Creek Trail.

4. White Water Kayaking - Truckee River

The Truckee River in Reno offers various levels of rapids for white water kayaking. Kayakers can start their tour in the city of Reno, which is then contrasted by breathtaking scenery along the banks of the Truckee River.
