Germania to offer new service from Gatwick
Germania announces to expand route network with the launch of its new service from London Gatwick to Erfurt/Weimar in central Germany.
The new route provides its passengers with connections to the country's six popular sun destinations for the coming winter season. The airport at Erfurt/Weimar serves as the perfect hub for passengers to connect with places of cultural interests in the state capital of Thuringia.
The regular flight service on this route is expected to commence on November 29 in time for the 2013/14 winter season. The airline will operate on Mondays and Fridays using an Airbus A319 aircraft that can seat 148 passengers to fly twice-weekly on this route.
The federal state of Thuringia is famous for its historic old town bestowed with timber framed houses and town halls, also for its one of a kind Christmas markets held from November.
Andreas Wobig, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Germania, commented that “Thuringia is one of the most culturally diverse regions in Germany; Erfurt and Weimar are two of the most popular towns with foreign tourists. We are delighted that we can now offer passengers from the south of the United Kingdom a non-stop connection to Erfurt/Weimar.”
